What is a topic?
A topic is a reason to call or engage with a contact that RiTA has identified based on market activity, user interactions in RiTA or contact engagement.
How do topics work?
RiTA is constantly busy combing over the data on market portals to find out what's new, what's changed, and what's no longer available (in fact, she never stops - what a work ethic!).
When RiTA identifies specific market events that are relevant to contacts you know, she will create them as a Topic.
RiTA will then analyze your contacts to find out who the most relevant contacts are for these topics, and then add these Topics to those contacts. Then, when you next open up these contacts in a List, you will see all of the Topics that RiTA has found that are relevant to a contact.
Most Topics available are market event-related (such as Just Listed's/Just Sold's), which can also contain a link to the event that RiTA identified (such as a link to the property listing on Realestate.com.au). There is one exception: Follow Ups.
Follow Ups act as a reminder to engage with the contact from a certain date for reasons you specify; think of these like time-bound tasks.
If you have 'Templates' set up, topics can also be automatically added to the call notes, SMS, Emails, Appointments, Follow Ups, CRM notes or Archive notes that you are creating when engaging with contacts.
Additionally, RiTA will use Topics to create themed lists based on a specific topic. These lists capture all of the contacts you know that are relevant to a specific Topic, so you can target these contacts for engagement without context switching.
RiTA creates Just Sold/Just Listed lists of contacts who have had these topics assigned to them from market data. To find these RiTA generated lists click on the Call Lists menu.
