Saving your search settings allows you to run a search with the same criteria multiple times without having to make your selection again each time you run a search. This is useful if you typically run a Project Search or Company Search monthly or quarterly. You can save searches for both Projects and Companies . You can also save Cross Search settings.
It may be helpful to know how to do a basic Project Search, Company Search or Cross Search before learning how to save a search.
Imagine you are a landscape architect and you have set your search criteria for commercial projects containing rooftop gardens in North Island in the In Planning stage. This is a search that you wish to run every quarter.
Use keywords that are relevant to your target projects and set the location criteria.

Select the relevant Stage and Category, select 3 Months from the Range dropdown menu, then scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Save Search.

A pop window will appear. Type a name for your search. Make it something easily recognisable and relevant to your search, e.g. Rooftop_Garden_Residential_InPlanning. Tick the Email Alert checkbox if you wish to receive alerts about this search. Click on Submit to save your search.

The next time you wish to run this search again, click on the Saved Queries drop down menu and select the search. Click on Submit Saved Search to run the search.

Imagine you are a financial advisor who wants to identify developers in North Island. This is a search you run to help identify new business opportunities.

After setting your search parameters, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Save Search .

A pop window will appear. Type a name for your search. Make it something easily recognisable and relevant to your search, e.g. Developer_NorthIsland. Click on Submit to save your search.

The next time you wish to run this search again, click on the Saved Queries drop down menu and select the search. Click on Submit Saved Search to run the search.

If you wish to refresh your memory and view the search criteria that you have set for your saved search, click on View Query. If you no longer wish to run this search again, click on Delete Query.

You will start your cross search on the Project or Company tab, depending on whether you are after a list of projects or a list of companies.
In this example, we have set the search criteria to identify a list of Education projects in North Island, which are in the In Planning stage with Developers information attached.
On the Search Projects page, set and select the criteria that is relevant to your search.

Click on Cross Search to proceed to the Search Companies page.

On the Search Companies page, set and select the criteria that is relevant to your search. When you're done, click on the Save Cross Search button at the bottom of the page.

A pop window will appear. Type a name for your search. Make it something easily recognisable and relevant to your search, e.g. NorthIsland_Education_Developer. Tick the Email Alert checkbox if you wish to receive alerts about this search. Click on Submit to save your search.

The next time you wish to run this search again, click on the Saved Queries drop down menu and select the search. Click on Submit Saved Search to run the search.

If you started your Cross Search on the Project tab, you would have to be on the Project tab to access the corresponding saved search. Likewise, if you started your Cross Search on the Company tab, you would have to be on the Company tab to access the corresponding saved search.
